Brighter Sound is thrilled to announce a unique opportunity for young female singers to explore the digital world of vocals with an award-winning artist.
We’re now taking applications for young women to take part in a 10 week Digital Vocals course with Elizabeth Vince. Part of our Here Come the Grrrls season of women in music, the group course will offer just five places to female singers aged 15-25.
Elizabeth is an up-and-coming artist creating atmospheric electronic music. After a number of successful collaborations with artists including Beth Orton, Marcus Intalex and Josephine Oniyama, Elizabeth is set to release her second EP. Her work has won awards and has been featured on Female: Pressures ‘Revellers’ compilation, showcasing the work of women working with the electronic music scene.
“The voice is a wonderfully diverse instrument, and with the introduction of technology, the possibilities of sound production using the voice are vast”. – Elizabeth Vince
This is a fantastic opportunity for female singers to develop new skills, and explore innovative ways of creating music using a variety of digital techniques and tools. The course will look at the way the voice can be manipulated, its full performance and instrumental potential, and ways to utilize the techniques live and in composition.
The course will specifically cover Ableton Live – the production software of choice for professional composers, DJs and producers – as well as various external effects. The group will explore general vocal technique, the voice within electronic music, microphone technique, and live performance.
The sessions will start on Mon 11 Jan at 7pm and will take place weekly at Band on the Wall (29 Swan Street, Manchester, M4 5JZ). Please note that due to expected high level of interest in this opportunity, and the limited number of places available, applicants must guarantee they will attend every session.

Hi Alixandrea. Unfortunately this specific course is limited to a certain age group but if you take a look at our What’s On page on our website you may be able to find another course that sparks your interest as we regularly host a number of different courses that are open to a variety of ages.

Really sad this opportunity is only for younger musicians. Are those of us who are a bit older and just starting out not worth your time or effort?
