About SHIRR
Inspired by albums such as MYLO XYLOTO (COLDPLAY), Fading West (Switchfoot), and Night Visions (Imagine Dragons), SHIRR’s April release the, HEARTS, EP is a melodic treasure trove that reminds us to dream big, love completely, and fear not.
Founded in spring of 2013 by songwriter, vocalist, and multi-instrumentalist, Melissa Collins, SHIRR formed at Berklee College of Music when drummer and Berklee classmate, Francisco Pawluszek responded to Collins’ ad seeking musicians for a recording session. For two years, Pawluszek helped Collins develop her music into what would ultimately become SHIRR.
In 2015 Pawluszek moved to Los Angeles, while Collins continues to write, record, and perform on the East Coast with a variety of guest musicians. SHIRR’s debut EP, The Bright Side was a bi-coastal project recorded remotely, and transferred back and forth between five musicians and one engineer.
SHIRR's fully self-produced sophmore EP, HEARTS, will be released in Spring 2016, followed by an international tour in Europe and the UK.
Currently based in Boston, MA, SHIRR is an Alternative-Pop artist on a mission to encourage hope in the hearts of all. SHIRR's talent for insistent melody lines, inspiring stories, and groovy drum patterns, combine to move the listener above the waist and below.
