We’re Razor Bill, a well-known and successful folk band in South West Wales. Played Fishguard Festival for the last three years, to really good crowds and excellent feedback.
Playing a limited number of gigs all round West Wales – festivals, pubs, clubs, weddings…. the usual mix. We do charge but we don’t do it for the cash… we get together to practise / perform because we love it.
We rehearse in different places in Pembrokeshire about once a week, somewhere between our base in the Tenby area and our bass player (Rosemarket) and fiddle player (St David’s).
We do songs from Ireland, USA and England (occasionally Wales, France and elsewhere) – Dubliners, Pogues, Bellowhead, Christie Moore, Oysterband, Steve Earle etc.
And tunes (jigs, reels, waltzes, polkas etc) from Ireland, Scotland, England and America.
Until recently we could draw on fiddles(2) concertina, accordion, banjo, bass, guitars(2), whistles, bodhran, harmonicas and other odd bits, and we use really good kit (mixer and speakers).
Not being immodest but we’re good instrumentalists and our vocalist is strong and versatile.
But one fiddle player has left us and our concertina/ guitar player has moved away.
And while it still works really well we might like to fill the sound out again.
So if you play concertina or melodeon or you can use keyboard skills that you think would enrich the sound, we’d love to hear from you.
Or if you play something else that you think would fit in, get in touch. Nothing to lose.
