My name is John Watt and I am a professional session drummer and tutor. I am available for studio sessions, online/remote sessions using my personal ProTools setup from home, stage work should you need a drummer for a gig and also private tuition.
Online/Studio Sessions:
The best foundation for any recording is a set of good solid drum tracks as every other instrument builds upon this base to create the finished piece. Working with loops and MIDI presets can sometimes feel limiting and not allow you the freedom to mix your drums tracks the way you want.
I can provide studio quality tracks, fully quantized (and pre-mixed if required) to create a rock solid foundation for your work to your exact requirements whether they be an exact recreation of MIDI tracks that you already have, adjusting and embellishing existing tracks or writing drum parts from scratch with your input.
Using my ProTools equipped home studio, I can create drum tracks to your specifications for a fraction of the cost of arranging a drum session in a professional studio and then return them to you in a high quality, universal file format that any recording / mixing software can work with instantly.
Your finished drum tracks will be available either as a download or as a solid copy on DVD and will give you complete freedom to mix them anyway you choose in your own recording / mixing software.
About Me:
I’m 26, have been playing for the last 7 years and since 2007 I have been playing with October File, signed to Candlelight Records. I currently have two full length albums on worldwide release. I’ve performed on various stages ranging from pubs and clubs, small venues and arts centres, right through to main-stage festival appearances. In 2010 I toured with Fear Factory and performed at Hammerfest II and Sonisphere and in 2011 I have performed at Download Festival, Metalcamp and Bloodstock Open Air.
All my equipment is of professional quality and specifications are available on my website ( www.john-watt.co.uk) and also on request. I am currently endorsed by Protection Racket drum-cases and am Musicians Union registered.
Whilst I tend to specialise in hard rock, progressive and metal, I am also very comfortable with soft rock, pop, A.O.R, industrial, ambient, smooth jazz and so on.
I learn parts very quickly and always do my best to ensure the best recorded/live performance that I can and I play comfortably to click tracks.
Please get in touch if you are interested in my services and would like to discuss your requirements/availability and rates. I endeavor to check my messages daily but please be aware that from time to time I may be busy and unable to reach my inbox for a day or two.
Recent testimonies for my work:
” Hugely recommended! John worked relentlessly on our tracks and the end result was so much better than I’d hoped for. He kept in constant communication and was happy even when we wanted to change something a bit later on! You won’t be disappointed!”
Josh Warrington – Sacrilegious Throne
“John epitomises the term “musical professional.” His attention to detail, artistic flair and ability to deliver exactly what is required is second to none.”
Jon Norton – Resource Sound Ltd
