Starting new Party band! Amateur middle aged drummer seeks others for some laughs!

Hi all!

New year and new start to make my dream a reality!

As a relative newbie to drums (3 years) I’ve always wanted to play to an audience ‘Floor Fillers’ or Party songs because I love the feeling of making people happy to dance to live music!

But there seems to be a limited opportunity for those like me who have had limited time behind an instrument….many adverts seem to be for highly skilled musicians who have loads of experience playing / gigging etc and they would be very quickly frustrated with me. That said I would class myself as “OK” and can certainly hold a beat behind the drum kit ..I’ve had experience playing with others in a studio and a few small live performances.

So – I’m shouting out to middle aged people like me who would like to have a laugh in a non-pressured environment smashing out killer tunes like 500 Miles, Don’t look back in Anger, Mustang Sally, Shut up and Dance, stuff from Robbie Williams etc etc. You get the idea. Working up to playing live as soon as is practicable. Probably meeting up at least fortnightly so you’d need to be committed and want to progress as a team player.

Also, I’m a 80’s / 90’s Rock fan so I’d also like to find like-minded people to jam things like Def Leppard, Bon Jovi, Black Crowes, Whitesnake, Fountains of Wayne and basically the Power Ballards from my era. But they’d probably be less effective as a Party set list I guess, open to ideas and discussions as a team.

So, if you’re a) not a professional musician b) a nice normal person c) want to get out of the bedroom and into the studio d) have your own gear and transport and e) believe this a journey you’d like to join me on then please drop me a note and we can chat 

Looking for Guitar, Vocals, Bass and Keys. Backing vocals a bonus.

I have played in studios before (New Haw and Woking). Be great if you’re relatively close and I suggest of a similar age, maybe 40 min and 55 tops. Sense of humour is essential and the more innuendos the better!
